Testing donations instead of password system

So you might see that on the password page it just tells you the password. Under has a donation button for those who want to donate, any amount we’d be grateful. Really I’m moving on to a new job where I won’t have the same amount of time for the sites plus won’t really need the money. So, I’m just looking to break even. If we can run the site off donations to break even we’ll keep it going, if not, then we’ll see what happens in the coming months. I’ll set up a better looking donate/password page soon plus a box in the sidebar of the sites tracking how close to the server cost we are. Right now servers cost us $150/month so thats our aim.

Volume 44, The Game, T.I., They Burn Me

Volume 44 is out now obviously, before anyone even asks let me explain why They Burn Me is on 44 even though its like 2 years old. As some may know, 50 Cent just made an official video for it like a week ago and so there’s a buzz and demand for it now. So there’s demand, and it’s never been on Instrumental Slaughter before, that’s really my only 2 rules. It reminds me of way back in the early volumes, when 50 was the main guy people wanted beats from. So going with that 50 ended up on the cover, and if you noticed its the first time a rapper has been on the cover since Volume 12. Aside from Signature Series mixtapes, speaking of which, next will be The Game and then TI. Those will be next week or the week after, or maybe one next week and one the week after.

Volume 43. Need something new

I used to have more to say other than “hey Volume 43 is out”. But now thats usually all I have to say. If you haven’t noticed you can now buy access for $.150, for those of you who don’t want to have to go through getting the password. I think the site needs something new, but I’m not sure what it is. If anybody has suggestions I’d like to hear them.

So Volume 42 is out now, seems like it wasn’t that long since 41, but I think it came out pretty nice. I might do T.I. Instrumentals next, or The Game. Some people are still having password problems, I try to help, its not all my fault the advertisers aren’t that easy anymore. But in response to some things I’ve read people say, no there are no viruses or anything like that involved. The people who have been downloading for years can tell you that.

Volume 41

So volume 41 is out, first post in a little while here. People who have emailed me probably can tell but I’ve been busy and haven’t been around. Usually I say whats next, but I’ve already done the Greatest Hits and all so next is probably just 42, or maybe Take Care instrumentals if enough are out by then.

5 Years Now…Greatest Hits

Greatest Hits is finally out, after I’ve been saying it for like a year. It worked out great though, I finally hit a date I planned for once. Today makes 5 years since Instrumental Slaughter Volume 1. Pretty crazy to me that I’m still doing them, I’m glad we’ve only had 39 though, I used to think we’d be at like Volume 105 now, and it loses some luster in my opinion once you get that high in numbers. I’ll probably change the name of it by then. Who knows.

Now, like I said about the Greatest Hits, in my mind its more for nostalgia and the people who download the mixtapes. So if you’re following me on twitter and send me a direct message (not a tweet), I’ll message you back the password.

39 out now…Greatest Hits date, password

So 39 is out now, spur of the moment mixtape. I think its got some good stuff on it though. Thats why I dropped it now, I know some people wanted those Drake one’s like a week ago and J.Cole has some demand.

I said the Greatest Hits were next, that changed, but the tape is done so all I have to do is release it. Probably late this week or the 11th. Why the 11th? Thats the 5 year anniversary of Instrumental Slaughter Volume 1. So, its really more of a mixtape for the people who have been downloading them all these years. So if you’re following me on twitter (@ISMixtapes) and send me a direct message when the mixtape comes out, I will send you back the password to download it.

Ok, so I’ve had some people email me with problems and complaints about the new password system. I’m going to address some of the concerns here. If you have no problems with getting the password, then please email me with suggestions on how to explain it, maybe I’m just not explaining it well enough, or not giving good enough instructions.

Q: This sucks, why do we have to this

A: There is a reason why most sites like this close down after only a few months and this one has been going since 2006. It costs about $300 every single month to host and run a site like this. Why should I lose $300 every month just to give people free mixtapes and beats? This is what keeps the site running and keeps new updates coming. Without it I’d stop doing it all together, it takes a lot of time and effort to do this. Not to mention, its really not that hard, and takes the same amount of time as it does to log in to a site before downloading.

Q: I entered my email address but didn’t get a password

A: When you enter your email a password doesn’t pop up or anything like that. That seems to be what a lot of people expect. Its not like that. When you look at the picture in the directions, it has a bar covering a word. When you put in your email address and get to that page on the actual site that word isn’t covered. Use the picture as a guide to see where the arrow is pointing, look there on the actual site and type that word into the password box. I find it easiest to open those links and picture in a new tab/window to go back and forth easily.

Q: It says “not available in my area”
